ASVAB Scores

The ASVAB produces more than one number, and they answer different questions. The AFQT decides whether you can enlist; the line scores decide what you can do once you are in.

• AFQT Percentiles and Categories. What an AFQT percentile actually measures, the six DoD categories, and whether your score is good enough: for which branch, and for what.

• AFQT Score Calculator. Turn your VE, AR and MK standard scores into your AFQT percentile with the DoD’s published conversion table, and see which branch floors it clears.

• Minimum ASVAB Score by Branch. The minimum AFQT score each U.S. military branch requires, with a diploma and with a GED: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space Force.
